Pottery Painting Workshop in the Heart of Amsterdam

Lila Amsterdam × Sofia James Pottery for a creative pottery painting experience inside Lila’s beautiful canal house in Amsterdam.

Surrounded by Lila’s colourful world — from their iconic bags and hair clips to prints and accessories — you’ll spend two relaxed hours painting your own ceramic piece in a space filled with creativity, good company and plenty of inspiration.

Whether you come with friends, for a date, or on your own, no pottery painting experience is needed. We’ll guide you through the whole process from start to finish.

Choose your workshop time

12:00–14:00 | Brunch Workshop ☕
Start your day with pottery painting accompanied by a sandwich and coffee.

15:00–17:00 | Aperitivo Workshop ✨
Join us for an afternoon of painting with a drink and aperitivo bites.

You’re also welcome to bring your own alcoholic drinks to enjoy during the workshop.

How does it work?

1. Choose your pottery
   When you arrive, you’ll choose your favourite piece from our selection of ceramics. Different shapes and pieces will be available to make your creation completely your own.

2. Pick your colours & get inspired
   Explore our range of paints, experiment with colour combinations and decide on your design. Our team will explain how the paints work and help you get started.

3. Paint your piece
   Now the fun part! You’ll have around two hours to paint and personalise your pottery while enjoying the atmosphere, food and drinks at Lila.

We’ll be there throughout the workshop to guide you, answer questions and help with techniques whenever you need us.

4. Leave the finishing to us
   Once you’re finished, we’ll carefully take your piece back to the Sofia James Pottery studio. There, it will be professionally glazed and kiln-fired, transforming your painted pottery into its finished ceramic piece.

5. Pick up your finished pottery
   Your creation will be ready approximately 3–4 weeks after the workshop and can be collected from Lila Amsterdam.
